“The Windy City” Chicago Skyline Hand-Lettered Sticker
Chicago is known for many things including it’s iconic skyline, Chicago style deep dish pizza, well-used flag, Chicago Style hot dog, public transit and more. Lettering Works has designed a collection of items to represent much of what makes Chicago unique, while maintaining focus on being locally crafted by a real designer who lives and breathes Chicago every day.
But why is it called the Windy City? The most obvious explanation is that it comes from the wind that comes off Lake Michigan. Another popular theory holds that it was coined in reference to Chicago’s politicians, who were deemed to be “full of hot air.”
